Foundation Support

Foundation support enables us to do the impossible, cross boundaries and fulfill dreams. In addition to supporting exhibits and operations, current foundation support goes to the following programs:

The Red Apple Fund for Student Enrichment – supporting science education for all students and serving 130,000 each year.

Financial Assistance – providing program fee discounts, transportation, and Aquarium admission to underserved schools.

The Long Island Sound Biodiversity Project – providing hands-on science and inquiry based field programs for thousands of students each year and building a database of Sound biodiversity and water quality.

Whole School Partnerships –  working closely, in select schools, with every class in every grade to help teachers close the science achievement gap.

Sound Science After School Programs – serving after school providers throughout the region with multi-week science enrichment programs.

Traveling Teacher – sending Aquarium educators and live animals to schools in 135 districts in the tri-state area.

Creature  Encounters – throughout the day, serving general Aquarium visitors with exciting hands-on programs with live animals and lessons about non-point source pollution.
