Sand Tiger Shark Fun Fact

Looks closely at the sand tiger sharks in the "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit. Their snout and jaws are covered in tiny holes. These are receptors for the sharks' "sixth sense" – their ability to detect bioelectric fields emitted by other animals (including potential prey).

Stop by our activity table to make a butterfly hat, help support monarch butterflies by planting milkweed in your backyard ($1 donation), learn about metamorphosis, play a caterpillar to butterfly matching game, learn how to tell a butterfly from a moth, or conduct a butterfly symmetry exercise.
