Sand Tiger Shark Fun Fact

Look closely at the sand tiger sharks in the "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit. Their snout and jaws are covered in tiny holes. These are receptors for the sharks' "sixth sense" – their ability to detect bioelectric fields emitted by other animals (including potential prey).

Meet the Dragon

Dates:  Every Mon., Wed., Fri. & Sat. July 1 through Labor Day

Times: 10:30-11:30 a.m. & 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Where: Ocean Beyond the Sound Gallery (near Meerkats)

Enjoy special encounters with a bearded dragon from our exhibit, "Dragons: Real or Myth?" Educators will answer questions and let guests touch or hold the animal.

Fish Tales: Story Time

When: 10:15-11 a.m. each Wednesday

Where:  Cascade Café

Price: Free with Aquarium admission

Fish Tales is an interactive story time for toddlers and parents/caregivers. Each week, we'll sing songs and rhymes, dance, and read books with Aquarium Educators, and maybe meet an animal ambassador! Space is limited to the first 20 children. Parent/caregiver must be present.
