"We've taken a few educational boat trips over the years but yours was by far the best all-around experience. The highlight had to be the breadth of sea life we pulled up and investigated, interacted with and, of course, learn about."

Sand Tiger Shark Fun Fact

Look closely at the sand tiger sharks in the "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit. Their snout and jaws are covered in tiny holes. These are receptors for the sharks' "sixth sense" – their ability to detect bioelectric fields emitted by other animals (including potential prey).

Science Standards

We've spent the past year revising our existing programs and creating a whole suite of new ones to make sure we can help educators achieve academic goals defined by the Next Generation and Common Core standards. There are two ways to see how our programs align to NGSS, CCSS and Connecticut Science Standards: 1) click on the pdf below titled "Standards_by_Program2014-15" ; or 2) click on "Programs by Grade" (at left) to find individual program descriptions and the standards they fulfill.
