If you missed this year's event, here's a smattering of what makes it special:
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (extended hours)
$15 adults, $10 children ages 3-12 (discounted admission)
Members save $2.
Chocolate, the Aquarium, free samples, and celebrity chef demonstrations are ALL included in your admission.
Chocolate Expo, one of the largest consumer-oriented chocolate events in the United States, features some 40 vendors, most offering free tastings of their products and on-the-spot sales. They’ll be set up throughout the Aquarium’s galleries and IMAX® Theater lobby.
Expo producer Marvin Baum said Chocolate Expo is for people who are serious about chocolate and enjoy unique specialty foods.
“Think of the chocolate tastings in the way you might think of a wine tasting at a winery: you get a small sample to try and you often get to talk with the person who made the product," Baum said. "If you like what you’ve tasted, you can purchase that product directly at the show for yourself or to give as gifts.”
Find not only traditional and gourmet chocolates, but also unique offerings like chocolate tarts, chocolate-covered pretzels, chocolate balsamic dressing, chocolate-covered bacon, chocolate-infused brussels sprouts, even chocolate-scented bath soaps. But Chocolate Expo isn’t entirely about chocolate. Try maple sugar cotton candy, Caribbean rum cakes, gourmet pumpkin seeds, exotic pickles and olives, 8 flavors of edible cookie dough, 40 types of gourmet seed and nut butters and much more. You can see more about vendors and their offerings HERE. First visit to Chocolate Expo? Read the FAQs.
