The Maritime Aquarium monitors ospreys in the Norwalk area because, as a predator, at the top of the food chain, osprey are an important indicator of the health of the entire ecosystem.

This camera monitors an active osprey nest located on the property of NRG's Manresa Island power plant in Norwalk. This particular nest has been productive in past years. Ospreys, which are also known as fish hawks, are active in our area from mid-March through late August or early September.
