Whether you're a new boater or you feel you'd benefit from a refresher course on handling a boat safely, you should plan to attend an upcoming Safe Boating Course at The Maritime Aquarium. The course, a requirement in Connecticut for the operator of any motor boat or sail boat over 19.5 feet, is being presented in a, one-day format from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. in one of the Aquarium's classrooms.

Safe Boating courses are scheduled for:

April 19, Saturday May 17, Saturday June 21, Saturday

This accelerated course prepares boaters and personal watercraft operators for a safe season on the water and earns them a state-required safety certificate. Topics covered during each course include safe and correct boating techniques, navigation rules, legal requirements, and safety at sea.
