Second Annual "Latinos in Science Day"
Celebrate with us on Sat., Sept. 25
The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk will host the second annual “Latinos in Science Day” on Sat., Sept. 25.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., recognizes and celebrates the opportunities in science careers for Hispanic people.
One goal is to offer strong role models for children of all ages. Therefore, the Aquarium is inviting local Latinos working in all sciences to describe their experiences and offer career advice. The Aquarium will offer demonstrations and information tables describing opportunities in marine biology.
The Aquarium also is inviting Hispanic scientists in such fields as medicine, engineering, chemistry, police, fire and other appropriate fields to display their craft and provide information tables.
To help support and celebrate “Latinos in Science Day,” The Maritime Aquarium is offering half-price Aquarium admission only to all visitors for that one day. It also will offer special information stations throughout the Aquarium, Spanish food in the cafe and live musicians.
