Maritime Aquarium Birthday Parties

Party Details

• Standard Party for up to 25 guests: $375 ($325 for members) 
• Double Party for up to 50 guests: $750 ($650 for members)
• Length: 2 hours (either 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. OR 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.) 
• Includes a private party space. 
• 60-minute guided tour including stopping at the stingray touch tank.  
• 60-minutes in the party room for add-ons and refreshments.
• Birthday child will receive a complimentary t-shirt from the Aquarium!  Additional t-shirts can be purchased for $15 each. 

Customize Your Experience with these Add-Ons

It is recommended to limit add-ons to two so there is time for everything! If you would like additional add-ons, then you must book an afternoon party with an hour extension.

If you choose not to add on any experiences, you are welcome to bring your own games or activities to fill the 60-minute time block in the party room.  

Please note: animal encounter add-ons must be booked a minimum of 4 weeks in advance. Non-animal add-ons can be booked 2 weeks in advance.  

20-minute Animal Encounters | Tier 1 | $50 

• Chain catshark (Touch) 
• Diamondback terrapin (Touch) 
• Intertidal Touch Tank (Touch) 
• Red-footed tortoises (Touch)

20-minute Premier Animal Encounter | Tier 2 | $100 

These are non-touch encounters. The animal will be brought to the party room for an up-close experience and Q & A. Any encounter involving a mammal or bird requires all party guests to wear facemasks during the encounter. We cannot guarantee guests will get the animal of their choice, however we will consider preferences.

• Story Time: House for Hermit Crab story reading and live intertidal animal touch experience. Recommended for ages 3-6. ($50)

• Extend your time in the party room by 1 hour ($100) (based on availability) 
• Feeding the stingrays ($3/per person)

Kid’s Combos- Choice of One Entrée Per Party

• Pizza Combo (two slices per child with juice box- pizza arrives in pizza boxes) $11
• Hamburger or Hot Dog Combo (one piece per child with juice box– entrees arrive individually wrapped) $11

A la Carte Add-Ons

• Boxed Water $4
• Snacks  (cookies, chips, pretzels) $4

• Kid Soft Serve Cups (vanilla, chocolate or swirl – select day-of) $4
• Kid Sundae Cups (SSA provides ice cream, chocolate syrup, two chef’s choice toppings, sprinkles & whipped cream) $6

• Starbucks Coffee Carafe (provides 9 cups of coffee with cream, sweeteners & disposable cups/lids & stirrers) $36

Cancellation Policy

Cancelled reservations for Birthday Parties are required to be made 3 weeks before the scheduled date of the party in order to receive a full refund.  All cancellations made with less than a 3-week notice will not be refunded. Parties canceled by the Aquarium will receive full refunds. Parties canceled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled. In case of emergency on weekends, call (203) 852-0700, extension 2225 and leave a message.
