Today: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Would you jump into a tank of water filled with 6- and 7-foot sharks? Actually, it can be done – bloodlessly – because sharks aren't really the aggressive man-eaters of popular myth. Come see for yourself when The Maritime Aquarium's dive team spends some quality time among the sand tiger sharks, lemon shark and other creatures of the 110,000-gallon "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit. Thanks to a cool communication link, you can even talk with the divers while they're in the exhibit with the sharks! They'll tell you that sharks should be respected ... but not feared.
Free with Aquarium admission.
Fish Tales is an interactive story time for toddlers and parents/caregivers. Each week, we'll sing songs and rhymes, dance and read books with Aquarium Educators, and maybe even meet an animal ambassador! Space is limited to the first 20 children. Parent/caregiver must be present. Free with Aquarium admission.

Our Valentine's Day Feeding Time on Feb. 10 was so popular ... we added another date!
After a warm buffet in the Cascade Café, adult couples will make the rounds with Aquarium staff as the aquarists feed an amazing assortment of hungry animals. Take a turn feeding the turtles, horseshoe crabs and rays. Get up close and personal with the harbor seals at a private feeding. Best of all, watch behind-the-scenes as the aquarists feed the big sharks in the Aquarium’s Ocean Beyond the Sound exhibit. Everyone goes home with a box of specialty chocolates.
Tickets are $135 per couple ($125 for members)
Join us for a unique slow flow yoga class in the serene environment of the aquarium's "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit, home to our sand tiger and lemon sharks. Linda from Mantra Yoga and Aerial Arts in Stamford will be leading this all-levels class which will allow students to use nature as inspiration for getting back to their natural state.
Beginning with centering and breath work, students will ease into their practice with some warm up stretching and movement on the breath. This class will focus on staying present and mindful and working at your own level and pace (modifications will be offered for beginners as well as for advanced practitioners.) The class will close with each student receiving a shoulder and neck massage to ease them into their final resting pose.
Note: Please bring your own mat to class (there will be a few mats available on a first-come-first-serve basis.) Students will need to sign a waiver when they arrive to participate. Aquarium admission at 10 a.m. is not included.
Class is $25 per person ($22 for members)
Educators, we're staying open late just for you! During this special evening, come learn how you can connect your students and curricula with The Maritime Aquarium's unique educational resources and programs, which help to fulfill state, Common Core and Next Generation Science standards.
See demonstrations of programs, for preschool through high school, and talk to Aquarium educators about unique, hands-on experiences and professional-development opportunities.
March brings much national excitement about tossing things through hoops, and the Aquarium is in on the fun too.
Each weekend in March, Maritime Aquarium guests can take part in “March Mania” challenges, such as a “Jaw-some Shark Toss” (a ring-toss game) and more.
Plus, special educational stations will feature artifacts and animals, with a focus on special “talents” and adaptations.
All “March Mania” activities will be free with Aquarium admission.
Scout Day at The Maritime Aquarium offers admission discounts, plus special educational programs that help to fulfill badge requirements, as well as other educational opportunities for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Advance registration is required. All scouts must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or troop leader.
