Long Island Sound: From Risk to Resilience

A changing climate will bring change to Long Island Sound, including rising sea levels and the chance for stronger storms and more damaging storm surges. This unique exhibit explains the difference between climate and weather, displays current "real-time" weather conditions, and offers some solutions to lessen the impact of coastal storms on our local human and animal communities.

In addition, guests can use an interactive screen to track historic New England hurricanes, map sea-level rise, and see global climate change since 1880.

This exhibit was prepared by The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk under award NA16SEC0080005 from the Environmental Literacy Grant (ELG) Program of theNational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U.S. Department of Commerce.
