A visit to The Maritime Aquarium is a fun, enriching family outing—and so much more!
Our Education team is winning national recognition for its STEM outreach, programming and teacher trainings. And now, they are helping to close the education gap worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic. They have developing remote options to help ensure educational opportunities—no matter where learning takes place.
We are a leader in the conservation of Long Island Sound and its watershed. We conduct groundbreaking research on key species and habitats and share our policy expertise on key laws and issues. We inspire visitors of all ages to protect the Long Island Sound through our exhibits and our field programs, including citizen scientist opportunities.
We are a leading expert in the cultivation of jellies, and we are undertaking innovative breeding programs for horseshoe crabs and other fish species. We care for protected, endangered or threatened species, such as our harbor seals, sea turtles, sturgeon and corals. All told, we provide exceptional care to nearly 7,000 animals—representing 310 species – that call The Maritime Aquarium home.
With your generous support, we can sustain this dynamic institution for the animals we love, the children we inspire and the environment we need.
