Animal-Husbandry Director Achieves Top Water-Quality Certification

NORWALK, CT  –  Barrett Christie, director of Animal Husbandry for The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, is the first person to pass a national mastery-level exam focused on water quality in public aquariums. Christie recently passed the Level 3 water-quality exam administered by the Aquatic Animal Life Support Operators. 2019 Season of Marine Life Encounter Cruises Starts May 4

Aquarium relieves Hanley as president

NORWALK, CT  –  The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk has relieved Maureen Hanley as president and chief executive officer. Statement in support of local laws banning/restricting plastic grocery bags

NORWALK, CT  –  In light of the City of Norwalk considering a ban on plastic “carryout” bags, The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk celebrates such municipal efforts and encourages other communities to take up the cause. Maritime Aquarium eliminates nearly all single-use plastics

NORWALK, CT  –  As a leader in Long Island Sound and ocean conservation, The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is doing its part for the environment by significantly reducing its employ of single-use plastics.
