The health and safety of our guests and staff have always been and will remain the top priority of The Maritime Aquarium. We have implemented COVID-19 protocols based on the Center for Disease Control (C.D.C.) and state of Connecticut guidance while still ensuring our visitors enjoy an entertaining and educational experience.

Hours of Operation

The Maritime Aquarium is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Aquarium is only closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. (Also please note that we close at 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve.)

Tickets must be purchased online prior to your visit until further notice. This includes member reservations.

4D Theater

The Maritime Aquarium's new state-of-the-art cinematic experience will send the action spilling off the two-story screen and over the audience with thrill-enhancing sensory special effects, such as scents, bubbles, wind, mists and more!

Personal Items

  • Guests may bring strollers, wheelchairs and backpacks from home.
  • For the safety of the animals, outside food and drinks are not allowed in the Aquarium. However, we do make an exception for guests with dietary restrictions or medical conditions. If you fall into this category, please feel free to bring your own food or medication with you when you visit.
  • Certified service animals are allowed at the Aquarium, however for the safety of our animals we do not allow pets or emotional support animals.
  • Costumes with full masks or head coverings are prohibited unless they are required for religious purposes or to honor cultural tradition are allowed.
  • Weapons, even with permits, are not allowed on-premises. 
  • Smoking is not allowed on Aquarium premises.
