Whole School Partnerships
A field trip is an isolated annual event. A Whole School Partnership is sustainability in learning experiences.
In short, a Whole School Partnership represents a deep collaboration between The Maritime Aquarium and schools, wherein our educators work with every student multiple times over the academic year.
Through hands-on programs conducted at the Aquarium, at school, in the field and on our research vessel, we aim to bring classroom science to life. We've demonstrated, when implemented fully, the power of these partnerships to substantially and immediately close the science learning achievement gap. Programs are developed according to the Next Generation Science Standards and tailored to meet the schools' specific goals. There also are interdisciplinary components in the Aquarium-developed curriculum, including Math, Literacy, and Social Studies.
